This Privacy Policy explains how NotionHighlighter ("we," "our," or "the extension") collects, uses, and shares your information when you use our Chrome extension and website.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Highlight Data

When you use the extension to highlight text on web pages, we process the following data locally in your browser and transmit it only when you authorize Notion sync:

• The text content you highlight
• The URL of the page where the highlight was made
• The page title
• Position metadata (CSS selectors) to restore highlights on page reload

1.2 Screenshots (Pro feature)

If you purchase the Pro license, you can capture screenshots of web pages. These screenshots are transmitted to your connected Notion workspace. We do not store or access your screenshots on our servers.

1.3 Notion Authentication

When you connect your Notion account via OAuth, we receive an access token that allows the extension to create pages and databases in your Notion workspace. We do not store or access your Notion credentials beyond the token required for sync.

1.4 Payment Information

When you purchase a Pro license, payment processing is handled entirely by Creem.io. We do not collect, store, or process your credit card or payment details. Your name and email address may be shared with us by Creem.io for license delivery purposes.

1.5 Usage Data

We may collect anonymous usage statistics (e.g., extension installs, feature usage) to improve the extension. This data does not identify you personally.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To sync highlights and screenshots to your Notion workspace as you instruct
• To generate and deliver Pro license keys
• To improve the extension's functionality and user experience
• To respond to support inquiries

3. Third-Party Services

• Notion API (notion.com): Stores your highlights and screenshots in your workspace. Subject to Notion's Privacy Policy.
• Creem.io: Processes Pro payments. Subject to Creem's Privacy Policy.
• Chrome Web Store: Distributes the extension. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Storage and Retention

Highlight data is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. Data synced to Notion is stored in your Notion workspace and subject to your Notion account settings. License keys are stored on our server only for verification purposes. We retain license records indefinitely to verify Pro status on future requests.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties except as necessary to provide the service (Notion for sync, Creem.io for payments) or as required by law.

6. Your Rights

You may disconnect your Notion account at any time via the extension popup. You may request deletion of your license data by contacting us. Highlight data stored in your Notion workspace can be deleted directly from Notion.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
